What kind of leader is barack obama

It inspired a whole nation because of the context of the US economy at that time; unemployment was high and it was the aftermath of the Lehman Crisis of This signifies a can-do attitude about Obama, inspiring his followers to believe that all things are possible despite the challenges. As a leader, we need to show this can-do attitude too; to believe that it is possible first before our followers believe; to see the victory before anyone else sees it.

Obama was extremely inclusive in his campaign and people from all backgrounds came out to endorse him ranging from celebrities like Snoop Dogg to Warren Buffet.

He sought to ensure that all bases were covered. If you want your followers to take ownership of corporate decisions, you have to include them in the decision making process. People who are isolated from that soon become withdrawn and disinterested, feeling that they can do little to influence outcomes. Consider how you can include more people in your decision making and find ways to get their input; they might just surprise you. Although John McCain probably had great policies for reform, but it was Obama that managed to explain the vision in a very simple manner.

This word embodied the spirit of his words and it came out through his conviction in his speeches. I am wondering if people are still feeling admiration for him now that things are really falling apart for America Perhaps before writing anything further the author should learn to use Spellcheck.

At the minimum learn the difference between woo and woe. I think Barack Obama is awesome :. Thank you John for sharing your insights. I will agree with you that to his credit the president has attempted to fulfill his most publicly heralded campaign promises.

And, I commend him for that. As far as healthcare goes, my family members and I have been recipients of government subsidized health care on several occasions in Thailand and Canada and received higher quality and more timely medical care than here in the USA.

I think people in the USA need more affordable health care and believe those with pre-existing medical conditions should have access to quality health care. Still, the health care plan on the table is not affordable to middle class familes and could even bankrupt my family.

Moreover, I am not sure whether forcing private citizens to purchase health care policies is constitutional. In regards to unemployment, the manner by which the government measures the unemployment rate is more complicated than in other times because both a baby boomers who are beginning to retire and b many who have been looking for employment for years have dropped out of the employment system altogether mostly because their unemplotment benefits ran out and they are unable to reapply.

Everybody needs to look back at what was said during the campain, He said his plans would take sometime, and we are now seeing the results, Unemployment has dropped to it's lowest point in years. The troops are being taken out of foreign lands, the health care plan is proceeding, although it has a up hill battle in the Supreme Court. Going down his list of the things he proposed, are becoming reality. The old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and his policies are working and do not need to be changed.

Change take time, and they need to have time to change, but not with new leadership. New leadership would only hinder the progress that is being made. Still, I am not sure this article and the majority comments listed above would qualify those who made them as "haters.

Amazingly i agree with keeping Mr. Obama as our president and give him more time to represent us in this crazy world. Among others in his agenda, they will all be done. I just found very disrespectful and childish to think, that in 4 years a human being can fix the mess up of so many decades before, to not mention the mess ups of the President before his time.

No words to describe what is coming for us, or what i know is that if we the american people give him an opportunity to fix things up in appropriate and fair time, Our President Obama will, in a hard bit!! JJW, you ask a very pertinent question. What indeed do the American people want in their President? Certainly, he cannot be all things to all people. And, as one man e cannot do it by himself.

It is as John F. Kennedy called "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. President Obama was God sent. This nation prayed for a leader and God sent Barack Obama. A man who understand and know first hand the people of this country. His many qualities have set the US back into the proper position as the World Leader. Does it deserves this distinction? Is it because of the fight or financial power? Or is it because God lead the Patriachs and Matriachs to do the right and put into place the right wording in the constitution that make this country a world leader.

United State history indicated the sad and terrible issues that were confronted on it's own soil. Still those same ugly and hateful issues keep coming to the forefront, why? ECoggin, you may wonder what does all this have to do with the article, well your article was a character profile of the President and the comments came from a wide network of viewers that stated the accomplishment and failure, the ups and downs or the President. I wish to say that President Barack Obama was an answer to prayer.

He is a Leader that have the needed atributes, ambition, confident, modest, self-asserting, accomondating, cooperative and agreeable, outgoing, congenial, polite and courageous. If he had to ride a horse with a sword in his hand, I believe he would do it. Because of his understand and heartfelt acceptance of the Consitution of the United States, he tries not to step outside of framework of the founding fathers.

He has often petitioned the people to step to their elected officials and demand they do the right thing. I am guilty of not speaking out to the proper persons so I know that many are the same.

So I will do better. Also, when he, Mr. Obama, became President, the ugly hatered serpent rose up, with the statement and attitude to make his administration FAIL.

Remember, America is a Democracy, the president can recommend but can't make the recommendation a law without others. Why haven't those individual been impeached? So to conclude a reply that was to be short and breif I would like to ask this question. What does America really want in a President?

I enjoyed your article. Not to worry - Obama is done Listen to this video, especially from on. Constantly I hear what Obama has not done for everyone and this country. Usually they are people who can't name one thing great the last president did for us. He came into this mess willing to try and fix it. It's like committing yourself to someone who has been treated like crap by every person before you. They will have, doubt, lowselfseteem and much more bagage.

The sistuation the country is in has to do with the people that led us before. Obama has to clean it up and then move us forward. As indivisuals you have to meet him in the middle. Or writing you legistlators. I've been browsing on-line more than three hours lately, but I by no means found any interesting article like yours.

It's lovely price sufficient for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the net can be a lot more useful than ever before.

Green 11 - thank you for your comments. I appreciate your candor. Even if I am not sure that all his policies are right for America, it does seem in most cases that Obama has attempted to fulfill his promises.

Wow, I'm amazed that people are still thinking straight. Everybody who commented was rational. One comment said that we need to cut the president some slack. Well, I don't think he would be impeached but it is obvious that standards of approval for him are very high. He can't get away with anything like some other presidents. It sucks for him but this is good for country, more pressure on him will made him do things faster than the rate at which presidents usually deliver their promises.

I didn't vote for him but I think he has tried extremely hard to deliver his promises. I'm glad that he won though because it looks like the right does not have much to offer to middle class people which is where I belong.

It has much to offer for the stinking rich. I jumped onto the wrong bandwagon. I wont jump on it again until they absolutely put me at the center of their policies. Obama is certainly charismatic leader, his personality is generating waves which are mesmerizing people and desperate people of world oz out hope in heart that messiah as come and will make the world safer place to live life and cherished.

I get mixed feelings about President Obama. I was very impressed early when he praised our military during the rescue of that sea captain. The fact that he smartly returns the salutes of the honor guard as did Reagan and Bush tells me he genuinly cares about our young men and women in uniform. On the other hand his administration threatens to sue the Arizona immigration law, ignore California's fedral marijona law yet when it came to the mousque in New York he suddenly quotes the letter of the law.

I don't think our leaders should be hand picking which laws should be challanged, which one's ignored and which ones enforced. Latley though I have been impressed with him. Guess it'll all pan out one way or the other in the next Presidential election. WTF is in reference to some of the stuff Im seeing coming out of the right wing side of politics - the scare campaign with socailism how dare poor people get medical treatment without cost which I was reading before I saw this blog which I liked and appreciated Im just amazed how people cant appreciate the improvement in the leadership in the whitehouse since the bush days.

I'm trying to figure out if you even read this hub or not. The article plus most of the comments seem to agree with you, but your tone makes it seem like you think they do not. Even before becoming the 44th US President and holding 2 terms at the office, Barack Obama was a prolific politician and was revered by the American public especially from his home state of Illinois and city of Chicago from where he was elected as Senator as well. Even countries not having friendly relations with the USA admire Mr.

Obama much. Important Barack Obama increases in characteristics and propensities for successful leaders that made him a politician and a leader of the most powerful country over the globe. Few years after leaving office, Barack Obama remains a symbol of change and hope for millions of people in the US.

Here, we give seven pieces of advice for the next generation of leaders. This is somewhat distracting at first but when you will take a closer look, this is a clever and smart way to engage the audience. The act of using we is not just pure politics as some of you might comprehend but rather a unique way of making people involved in a conversation and then making them believe they have actually contributed something positive to a cause.

Important This signifies a can-do attitude about Obama , inspiring his followers to believe that all things are possible despite the challenges. As a leader, we need to show this attitude too; to believe that it is possible first before our followers believe; to see the victory before anyone else sees it.

We give. We inspire. He is considered as one of the best speech givers in the American presidential history that he can command the attention of a person with ADHD. Most notably, he can give speeches on race issues without coming across as catering only to the black people given his strong connection and ties with the black community. Important Obama has given America an exciting, optimistic and inclusive vision of the future — his call for change has struck a chord.

In highlighting that the difficulties faced are not insurmountable, he has won hearts and minds. Part of the job of a good leader is to tell a good story. You have to be able to ground whatever changes you think your organization, your community needs, in a longer story of where we have been and where we are going and where we are.

It became the buzz word and was used across the board by virtually every person talking about some transformation, revolution, etc. Important Regular changes help us to adapt to new situations, new peoples, and a new environment.

When the regular changes occur in our lives then it creates new opportunities for us which helps us to get success. Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the change that we seek. Important With a host of things to do on his list, how did he turn an ending into a beginning for the next project dozens of times? Be the change you want to see. The role of leadership in change management requires care, communication and commitment.

As the leader, you are the bridge between your organization and the envisioned change. W hen problems reached him in the White House, it was because they were unsolvable. He generally was being asked to choose between two bad options.

For example, Barack Obama showed an admirable ability to react and respond appropriately when the dominant issue in the presidential debates changed from national security to the financial crisis.

The value of social movements and activism is to get you at the table, get you in the room, and then to start trying to figure out how is this problem going to be solved.

Important There are certain core values that we should apply to everyone, regardless of what they look like or how they worship, or the station to which they are born.

Obama was extremely inclusive in his campaign and people from all backgrounds came out to endorse him ranging from celebrities like Snoop Dog to Warren Buffet. He sought to ensure that all bases were covered. Inclusive leadership revolves around doing things with people, rather than to people.

His powerful messages of hope and possibility stem from listening to what Americans want. We are bombarded with messages and opinions—on social and traditional media, when we walk down the street, in our addiction to our phones. We live in a noisy world, so learning how to quiet the clutter and truly listen has never been harder or more important.

His entire campaign was a classic case of how to communicate with virtually each and every person in the USA who is eligible to vote, gain his confidence and send the message across in clear terms. The cynics may be the loudest voices — but I promise you, they will accomplish the least.

Important Healthy communication between leaders and team members establishes a foundation for trust. When your team members know that they will be heard, they are more apt to openly share their ideas and provide honest feedback.

To be able to listen , you must first be interested in your employees. People open up and are more honest when they feel their manager cares about them and the issue at hand. A good listener pays attention to what matters to people. A good listener is able to be of service to others in times of need. This is a time of need and listening will bring positive change to the nation. T he decision-making culture that the leader has established hugely affects whether the right decisions are made.

Begin with humility and recognize that others also gather facts that are worth taking into account. Obama would begin gathering as much information as possible from intelligent sources. Important The number of executives who operate based on their gut instincts instead of facts is amazing.

Whoever is making the decision should focus on objective facts and gain as many of them as they can.
