The real jaw-to-floor moment in the comic comes in the final pages, when a character completely excised from The Rise of Skywalker makes his way back into Lucasfilm-approved canon. A giant emerged, a hairless creature sheening with wetness, bits of lake detritus clinging to its pasty skin. Its eyes were squeezed shut, but it could still see after a fashion, because draped over its massive bald head and across one shoulder was a second creature with long spidery tentacles.
The two were locked in symbiosis. Yet neither could it survive alone. With its reintroduction in the comics, we may see the origins of that moment — or something entirely different, as the moment never actually happened on screen. It was nearly twenty-eight thousand pounds. That book hits stands on Dec. The Hutt also told Vader that a group of droids took off in another direction. Vader decided following the droids was the best course of action.
Since the location of the droids was deep in Hutt space, Bokku suggested that Vader and Ochi travel with him to the planet. Upon arrival, Vader attempted to descend to the planet's surface but was shot down in the process. He was immediately assaulted by an army of droids who were accompanied by the assassin droid IG IG came with a secret weapon. He held a datapad that contained the code to Vader's suit which he used to try and turn the Sith's lightsaber against himself.
Bokku had been observing the firefight from his cruiser and noticed that IG had control of Vader. Vader was able to break free from the droid's hold by using the Force to steal the datapad. After seeing that IG had failed to defeat Vader with an upper hand, Bokku decided it was the perfect time to drop an aerial bombardment on the battlefield below. This would prove ineffective against Vader as he was able to deflect the blast and damage the droid army surrounding him. Vader retrieved the information that he needed on Solo and returned to Bokku's cruiser.
As Vader returned to the cruiser, Bokku tried to play off his attack and congratulated Vader on his execution on the battlefield. Vader saw through the Hutt's words and exclaimed that Bokku planned to betray him from the beginning. Instead of striking Bokku down, Vader asked the Hutt what he learned. Bokku replied that he learned that Vader could not be defeated , a lesson so many have learned in the past. In the Battle of Yavin , the Rebel Alliance launched a desperate, full scale attack.
He made a precise shot, firing a proton torpedo directly into an exhaust port, and destroyed the terrible weapon. Tarkin, who pompously refused to evacuate, was killed in the resulting explosion.
Indeed, Darth Vader was obsessed with finding Luke Skywalker and dispatched probe droids throughout the galaxy. Finally, one of his spy satellites picked up something on the remote ice planet Hoth ; while some Imperials were skeptical, Vader was convinced it was the location of the Rebel base. Traveling on his Super Star Destroyer , the Sith and his fleet arrived at the system and deployed troops for a ground assault.
AT-AT walkers , gargantuan weaponized transports, led the attack. It was still a victory for the Empire, and Skywalker and his friends would later suffer terrible defeats at the hands of Vader.
Looking to finally crush the Rebellion and cement its galactic authority, the Empire began construction of Death Star II. The Emperor himself visited the new space station to oversee its completion, his intimidating presence ensuring it would be finished on schedule.
Yet this is just what the Emperor wanted: he had set a trap for the Rebels.
